When I stepped onto the property at the William Aiken House in Charleston for Kelly & David’s wedding I had NO idea how special the day was going to be…for so many reasons. We had no idea that our country (and the world) were about face a pandemic, months of lock-downs, and the cancellation & rescheduling of almost every spring wedding. Kelly & David were the last couple I was able to celebrate with until JUNE. What a crazy, unexpected year.
David & Kelly’s day started off with such a fun, vibrant energy that lasted through their entire celebration. Kelly and her girls got ready on the second floor of William Aiken, and David and his guys were on the first floor. Kelly and her girls all had gorgeous matching robes, and popped some champagne to share before the festivities.
The ceremony was in the garden, and even though there were a lot of people it felt so intimate. David’s uncles officiated the ceremony (all three of them!)…I absolutely love when a family member officiates! There’s just something so much more special about having someone who’s known you since you were born start you off on the next chapter of your life.
Dinner was inside, and afterwards everyone danced (man did they all dance!!) under the stars! Weddings are always SO much more fun when the group loves to dance, plus it makes for THE BEST photos.
David and Kelly, I am so extremely grateful to have been part of your day…and if there was going to be a “last wedding before the quarantine” yours was the perfect celebration to close with!
